Discover one of the darkest corners of our planet. It is a spot where light pollution does not reach, where night darkness is protected. A place ideal for all kinds of astronomical observations.
The Jizera Park of Dark Sky is the first park of this kind in Poland, and the first such cross-border park in the world. It is located in the Polish-Czech Jizera Mountains. It is among very few places on earth that allows for such detailed observation of the night sky. In the Jizera Mountains, the visibility of the stars is as much as 40 times greater than in large cities, and the park is located among the mountain tops in a sparsely populated area.
After dusk, the sky above the park shows everything that the day hides. You can see the Milky Way, the Andromeda Galaxy, galaxies, star clusters, nebulae, and sometimes even shooting stars or meteors.
The Jizera Park of Dark Sky is located in the Izera and Jizerka valleys and covers an area of 75 km2.
